Job Overview
As an Associate/Analyst you will join CIBC’s Macro Strategy department, a cross-asset research group in the bank’s Capital Markets Trading business that covers currencies, rates, commodities, and credit from trading floors in Toronto, New York, London and Hong Kong. This is a junior level role with development and growth potential for the successful candidate.
Job Requirements
- Manipulate, model and analyze data
- Research specific topics of interest
- Write summaries
- Update reports (desktop publishing) and website postings
- Prepare charts and format presentations
- Assist the Senior Analyst in developing new products
Qualifications, What We’re Looking For
– Strong academic record; a graduate degree is preferred or completion of courses that involved large complex projects or writing a thesis
– Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese an asset
– Knowledge of Latin American economies
– Strong knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel
– Superior communications skills with the ability to formulate well thought-out opinions and defend them in a high-stress environment
– Ability write with ease and present to others
