Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Completions Engineer rotating to Malongo, Angola through July 23 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Located on the Atlantic Coast of southern Africa, Malongo is a remote company camp in the Cabinda enclave. Multi-cultural workforce of many ethnicities. Business environment is in English, but Portuguese is the national language. Medical facilities available sufficient for basic health and emergency care. All serious illness/injuries will be medevaced to South Africa. The work schedule is a 28/28 rotational assignment. Work and living are within a company camp where all housing, transportation and meals are provided.
Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Develop detailed completion procedures for all Block 14 programs including subsea and intelligent well completions.
Serve as liaison between D&C and Asset Teams / Project Teams to identify reservoir management objective and develop viable alternatives.
Provide rig site quality assurance during execution of stimulation operations and installation of completions hardware.
Provide daily support to D&C Superintendent during all phases of completions and trouble shooting.
Conduct Complete Well On Paper (CWOP) and Risk and Uncertainty Management (RUMS) sessions as appropriate for all completions operations.
Conduct look backs and records lessons learned / best practices and incorporates them into future completion designs / operations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum 6 years of drilling & completion engineering & operations experience.
Proven experience in all aspects of completion engineering design and completions engineering and operations.
Candidate must have experience and be able to design Intelligent completions (including selection of optimal sand control method; tubing & completion string; completion & packer fluids; downhole chemical delivery; DH data acquisition system); prepare completion program and estimate associated completion time & costs for exploration; development; and appraisal wells.
Demonstrated ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline; multi-cultural environment. Able to interact effectively with peers; partners; service and contractor representatives.
Champions the development and maintenance of a multi-rig OE culture both in the office and field; during design and execution. Enables and encourages a culture of stop work authority; promotes active use of the OE tenets; and ensures risk assessments are performed thru all phases of the well construction process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in multiple projects.
Familiarity with leadership skills colors as a communication & risk assessment tool.
